My name is Jelena
It comes from Greek, and means sunlight or sunray, which I don’t think is a coincidence.
I grew up in the suburbs of a beautiful town Varaždin, in Croatia. As a little girl, I loved observing people, their reactions and emotions. What I loved most is watching my mom bake desserts. I would wait patiently for any leftover cream. Mom would laugh, and those are the moments captured in my mind and memory like photographs. I enjoyed the simplicity of nature and finding beauty in everyday life, which is often overlooked in our busy and worrisome lives.

Photography has always been in my heart.
Through photography I can freeze those small sincere moments, grand celebratory moments, sadness, but also love and joy. It is because of my love of recording these moments, emotions and images that will never return, did I start my photo studio in 2015 and named it My Joy.

I want to get to know each of my clients, listen to them and get closer in order to understand their viewpoint, their priorities and how they feel. During these 8 years behind the camera, I learned that dearest and most beautiful photographs come when you are relaxed and forget I’m present. I believe that photography, whether it’s your wedding day or another special event, is one of the most important investments you will make on the day.
